I partied with him after a show at The Machine Shop in Flint, MI by doing Black Tooth Grin shots, partying on the tour bus, and basically seeing a man who was completely down to earth and without ego, even though he was, and in many ways still is, one of the greatest guitar players to ever lay down a riff. I had written a piece regarding my personal experiences with Dimebag that has unfortunately been lost in the transitions that Bloody-Disgusting has gone through over the past few years. It was a loss that sent waves of shock and grief through the music world that were most keenly felt, for obvious reasons, in the metal world. Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the murder of heavy metal guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, who was best known for his work in Pantera and Damageplan.
